North Yorkshire Moors Coastal Cycle Challenge

In memory of Norman Scholes

The NYMCCC will not be taking place in 2019, however we are pleased to confirm that the date of the next NYMCCC will be Sunday 4 October 2020. Further details including the application form will be available on this web site NYMCCC.UK from Spring 2020

The NYMCCC is an annual cycle ride starting from Fylingdales Village Hall at the top of Robin Hood's Bay. It follows the Cinder Track (old railway line) to Whitby and returns past the start point, then via Ravenscar, to the outskirts of Scarborough. The return route from Scarborough leaves the track at Ravenscar and follows the road for a short climb to Stoop Brow, the highest point in the area, then returns to the track and continues to finish once again at Fylingdales Village Hall. The event is not a race and the challenge is to complete the 38 mile ride. The track, as the name suggests, is mostly surfaced with cinders, it can be a little bumpy and muddy in parts after rain, there are some lengthy climbs, but none too steep as it was a railway track.
